Financial SummaryPrior to the start of each year the Combined Fire Authority agrees a budget which ensures it is able to deliver effective services to the people of Lancashire. A budget of £60.3 million was set for 2008/09, to cover the day to day running costs of the service. The cost of this budget is met from:- Government Grant Business Rates Council Tax The 2008/09 budget identified efficiencies of over £0.9 million, which were used to deliver continuing improvements in fire safety and to minimise the impact on council tax. In addition we set a capital programme of £2.1m, the majority of which relates to the replacement of vehicles and buildings.
